The archive comprises 453 documents and photographs detailing companies that sold telephones in the Ottoman Empire, their users and employees, and the telephone’s place in daily life. Records relating to the Dersaadet Telephone Joint Stock Company and the İzmir and Surroundings Telephone Company are supplemented by telephone directories and other printed publications from 1914 to 1982 held at Salt Research, together documenting the spread of telephone use in Turkey.
