(see http://kutuphane.puktacloud.com/medas/giris.php#katalog )
The archive includes Çığ’s published and unpublished articles; articles she collected in line with her field of expertise and personal interests; invitations, brochures, conference papers, and postcards from national and international meetings and various events she attended; mounted and unmounted slides; handwritten notes in Turkish in the old script; clippings of news stories and articles about her published in various magazines and newspapers; her writings published in various newspapers and magazines; emails; letters; and official correspondence.
Based on Kramer’s letters in the Muazzez İlmiye Çığ Private Archive and her interviews with Çığ, Prof. Dr. Firdevs Gümüşoğlu wrote the book Cuneiform Letters from Samuel Noah Kramer to Muazzez İlmiye Çığ, which tells the story of the friendship between two scholars who contributed to scholarship on the “firsts” in the history of civilization. The book was published by Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları in 2021.
The Muazzez İlmiye Çığ Private Archive contains a wide range of information about Anatolian civilizations, the history of civilizations, and the origins of civilization. It is therefore a rich resource on Turkey’s political, cultural, and socioeconomic history, as well as the history of the Republic.
