22 FEBRUARY – 23 FEBRUARY 2022
Salt is organizing an international conference as part of its research project on performance art in Turkey from the second half of the 1980s through the end of the 1990s. The two-day program, to be held on Salt’s YouTube channel and Zoom, will discuss research methods in performance art and what is needed to create an archive. Invited speakers will draw on their experience in the field to present current work on documenting and reassessing performance art and making materials publicly accessible.
The project, planned to be presented through a website and exhibition in September 2022, aims to create a comprehensive inventory of performances held in Turkey during that period and to compile and share with the public archival materials preserved to the present through individual efforts.
