Fatma Aliye Hanım was a woman writer who reflected on and produced work concerning women’s rights and freedoms; her archive is held by İBB Atatürk Library. On the 161st anniversary of her birth, a talk with Senem Timuroğlu about Fatma Aliye’s intellectual legacy will take place at Atatürk Library on Thursday, October 26, at 18:30.

From the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Atatürk Library Archive, No. 1: The Orhan Kızıldemir Archive

A new series on the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Atatürk Library archive begins this month, with its first installment focusing on Orhan Kızıldemir, an important figure in maritime history. His daughter, Nilüfer Beygo, will join Murat Koraltürk and İrfan Dağdelen for a talk at the Atatürk Library on Thursday, October 19, at 18:30.
