The Republic Behind the Scenes will be on view at Pera Museum from September 29, 2026, to March 28, 2027.
Drawing on over 20,000 images from the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Photography Collection’s Press Photography Archive, it explores photojournalism and everyday Istanbul from the 1920s to the early 1950s.
Curated by İdil Çetin and Ahmet Ersoy, the exhibition marks the Istanbul Research Institute’s 20th anniversary.
