The Istanbul Encyclopedia Archive is Now Online

Kadir Has University announced that the Reşad Ekrem Koçu and Istanbul Encyclopedia Archive project, conducted in collaboration with Salt, is now accessible online. The archive brings together a vast universe of records shaped around the printed volumes of the Istanbul Encyclopedia, unpublished entries, visual materials, and working files for researchers.
According to the announcement, the project opens a new research gateway to Istanbul’s social, cultural, and urban memory by making over 40,000 records accessible in digital format. In this respect, the initiative serves as a strong example of digital access to private archives, institutional collaboration, and sustainable cultural heritage management.
