Historic photographs of Istanbul taken in the late 1940s by Swedish photographer Karl Werner Gullers have been added to Anadolu Agency’s visual archive.
Documenting the city’s daily life, streets, and urban fabric, the photographs have become part of Türkiye’s visual memory 79 years later and are now available to researchers and the public.
The newly added photographs by the internationally renowned Gullers offer significant visual testimony to Istanbul’s social and historical appearance in the late 1940s.
